You Can Help

Each year in Pulaski and Perry Counties there are over 1000 children in the foster care system at any given time.  Through no fault of their own these children are ripped from their homes and put in to homes of complete strangers and are expected to succeed.  These children are often moved from home to home and from placement to placement.  The children lack stability and consistency.  Often these children incur school changes, doctor changes, therapist changes, and caseworker changes.  CASA Advocates are the stability in this child's life.

As grown adults in the community, we have to recognize that these children deserve someone who will stand up for them and say, "I will do the right thing!".  More often than not, these children have seen and heard things that we can only imagine.  These children are affected by their abuse and by their circumstances.  Will you be the missing piece of the puzzle in their life?  Will you be the adult that tells them that "you matter to me"?  Or will you continue to look the other way and hope that the abuse goes away?  Now that you know what is happening right outside your door, what are you going to do about it?

Abuse happens everywhere.  There are abused and neglected children at your child's school, at your church, at your civic group, at your camp and in your community.  These children deserve a happy childhood.  Won't you help them achieve that goal?

We look forward to hearing from you.  Thank you for your interest in volunteering your time with CASA.  Please do not hesitate to call with any questions you may have.
